Jonathan Du Toit completed his dental degree at the University of the Western Cape, followed by a Diploma in Oral Surgery from the College of Maxillofacial & Oral Surgeons of South Africa, and a Diploma in Implantology from the Implant and Aesthetic Academy/University of Frankfurt. He simultaneously completed a Master’s degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in Implantology. He then completed a 4-year full-time specialist training in periodontics and oral medicine at the University of Pretoria, whilst also simultaneously completing a PhD at the University of Szeged, Hungary.
Currently with more 30 journal publications and 3 textbook chapters, Dr Du Toit has both published in and reviews for Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research, the Journal of Oral Implantology, the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, Journal of Prosthodontics, Implant Dentistry, and the International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry. Dr Du Toit has been an invited trainer and speaker in Brazil, Germany, Hungary, China, Iran, to name a few. Together with Dr Howie Gluckman, Dr Du Toit is a senior lecturer at the Implant & Aesthetic Academy in Cape Town, South Africa.
Fields of interest:
Dr Du Toit’s primary interests are periodontics and implant dentistry. The preceding several years have been devoted to collaboration with Dr's Maurice Salama and Howie Gluckman to report on the partial extraction therapies.
