It is very excited minimally invasive periodontal surgery. It is just what Dr Salama mentions "it is simple" but I think it need a lot of practice of doing this.

Maurice Salama - (2/23/2012 4:04 PM)

Xp friends; I will record the Model based Tunnel procedure in HD format. We have scheduled it for the coming month and will voiceover after editing. Keep an eye out for it. The older video no longer can be utilized due to the older format.
Dr. Salama

Hi Maurice, what about the video about tunneling technic on MODEL?
Thank you
Yehouda Rubin

Yehuda RUBIN - (1/30/2012 3:37 PM)

Please Maurice, coul'd you post the tunneling technic seen on MODEL that we saw in your course given in Tel-Aviv
Thank you very much

Maurice Salama - (12/14/2011 5:34 PM)

Yehuda and all my friends; Thank you for reminding me. It will be voiced over in the coming weeks and then posted after the New Year. I am hopeful to do more model based videos in the future to add as well. The yellow material used on the roots is tetracycline paste used to condition the cementum for fibroblast adhesion. The tunnel instruments are sold thru Devemed and can be purchased directly on this site www.dentalxp.com. As for sutures, 6.0 Polypropylene or 5.0 Nylon work very well. My next Soft Tissue Hands-on course is here in Atlanta, March 9-10th. Thank you all for your posts and interest. many thanks Dr. Salama

Yehuda RUBIN - (12/14/2011 5:25 PM)

Dr Maurice Salama, as you suggested, coul'd you please put on dental-xp, the video of tunneling technique done on the model (not on a patient)that you shown us in your course in Tel-aviv . So it will be much easier to remember how to use each instrument to ahieve the procedure
Thank you
Yehuda Rubin (Israel)

DR.Salama, where I can get the tunnel instruments that you are using in thisvideo? thanks

loo chong - (6/17/2010 3:58 PM)

the video did not show suture placement between 1st and 2nd bicuspid.Where did the suture thread seen at the base of the papilla between the bicuspids came from ?

Gingival Recessions Around Teeth & Implants - Clinical Approach
This lecture will cover different aspects of the perio-implantology environment: strategies to deal with the gingival recessions at single and multiple sites; socket management at the aesthetic zone; and alternatives to treat marginal recessions at already osseointegrated implants. All segments of the lecture made by the ImplantePerio group were backed up by strict and straightforward decision trees created by them to help and assist the clinicians to better treat the different conditions that may be presented at their offices, rendering predictable, consistent, aesthetic and stable outcomes using simple and user-friendly techniques.

The Critical “Pink” Interface in Esthetic Dentistry—A Cross-Disciplinary Approach: Options, Limitations, and Solutions
This program is a perspective into how cross- disciplinary interface planning has become and integral part of clinical esthetic dentistry, in particular implant diagnostics. Today it is essential to combine “white” tooth esthetics with “pink” gingival aspects. Understanding the individual prosthetic, surgical, and biologic limitations is part of innovative treatment-planning protocols developed in an approach to provide, simplify, and expedite minimally invasive limited therapy. Preemptive CBCT and 3D CAD/CAM planning of soft and hard tissue procedures, implant placement, ridge reduction, and restorative design now utilize new innovative protocols for the entire restoration from top to bottom - implant, abutment, and restoration - and the interfaces in between.

Plastic-Esthetic Periodontal and Implant Surgery: A Microsurgical Approach - Part 1
This 2 part presentation is a comprehensive overview of the principles, indications, and clinical techniques of plastic-esthetic periodontal and implant microsurgery, focusing especially on minimal soft tissue trauma and maximally perfect wound closure. Microsurgery provides clinically relevant advantages over conventional macro-surgical concepts for regenerative and plastic-esthetic periodontal surgery, especially in the all-important esthetic zone. The microsurgical principles and procedures presented will described using high resolution multimedia.

Vertical or Shoulderless Preparations in Contemporary Prosthodontics Premium Member Content

Vertical or Shoulderless Preparations in Contemporary Prosthodontics
Tooth preparations without a defined finish line have been termed in several different ways, such as knife edge, feather edge, or shoulderless. From a biological standpoint, preserving a maximum amount of sound tooth structure, as it is done in vertical preparations, might also offer a more conservative alternative to a horizontal margin design in other clinical conditions such as endodontically treated teeth, vital teeth in young individual, teeth affected by caries at the cervical third. Vertical margins on zirconia crowns have been tested in vitro and clinical reports have been published. A re-evaluation of possible advantages and shortcomings of vertical preparation design in contemporary prosthodontics will be presented in light of recently published literature.

The Endentulous Ridge in Fixed Prosthodontics

The Endentulous Ridge in Fixed Prosthodontics
In those clinical situations in which missing teeth are replaced with fixed prosthodontics, the clinician is faced with the task of fabricating the pontics to fulfill the requirements of esthetics, form and function, and oral physiotherapy. The relationship of the "dummy tooth", or pontic to the underlying ridge is inordinately complex, since the esthetic requirements invariably conflict with those of function and hygiene. Although pontic designs have been discussed in some depth in the literature,…

Labial Bone Thickness in Area of Anterior Maxillary Implants Associated with Crestal Labial Soft Tissue Thickness

Labial Bone Thickness in Area of Anterior Maxillary Implants Associated with Crestal Labial Soft Tissue Thickness
Soft tissue problems (ie, gingival recessions) are common in implantology and are often associated with thin soft tissue biotypes or buccally placed implants. Goaslind described 2 types of biotypes commonly found in the natural dentition: thick and thin. It has been suggested that thicker soft tissue biotypes are associated with less tissue recession, higher crestal bone levels, and better aesthetics. A thin tissue biotype has been shown to be more prone to tissue recession. Gingival recession is always associated with alveolar bone dehiscences. Furthermore, there is evidence that thick soft tissue may be protective against crestal bone loss (ie, tissue thickness of ,2.5 mm resulted in crestal bone loss of 1.45 mm vs. thicker tissues had 0.26 mm). This protective effect occurred, despite the supracrestal position of the implant-abutment interface.

Similarities Between an Acellular Dermal Allograft and a Palatal Graft for Tissue Augmentation

Similarities Between an Acellular Dermal Allograft and a Palatal Graft for Tissue Augmentation
Predictable tissue regeneration presents a considerable challenge in the surgical treatment of gingival tissue defects. Soft-tissue augmentation procedures to increase the existing or create a new zone of attached keratinized gingival tissue have classically been performed using the patient's own masticatory mucosa and, more recently, using an acellular dermal allograft as the donor material. This article presents a clinical case whereby an acellular dermal allograft was placed on the buccal surface…
