Howie: Great presentation-thanks. Maurice talks about staying 4mm from midline to avoid risk of critical anatomy. What are the risks as you cross the midline in the anterior as far as vascular invasion?

The mIVAN Approach for Preservation Surgery
mIVAN* Technique is a nice abbreviation for complicated terminus: “ Modified Interpositional Augmentation Neogenesis”. It is basically simultaneous hard and soft tissue augmentation utilizing pediculated connective tissue graft. It works for Socket type 2 and 3 and ridges with horizontal atrophy. Combined with Partial Extraction Therapy, mIVAN technique is a nice treatment choice for the teeth with recessions.

systematic review was to assess the
efficacy, safety, and clinical benefit
of recombinant human plateletderived
growth factor (rhPDGF) use
for alveolar bone and/or soft tissue
regeneration. Based on the
clinical evidence, rhPDGF is safe and
provides clinical benefits when used
in combination with bone allografts,
xenograft, or β-TCP for the treatment
of intrabony and furcation periodontal
defects and gingival recession or
when used with allografts or xenograft
for GBR and ARP.
