Computer Guided Sinus Elevation and Implant Placement

Description:
This video presentation outlines the integration of CBCT, virtual planning and surgical clinical techniques to successfully and precisely perform a sinus elevation procedure utilizing the lateral window technique with the Neobiotech Lateral Approach kit. In addition, subsequent computer guided surgical ridge split and implant placement will be demonstrated and discussed in great detail.

Alvaro, Thank you for this wonderful presentation. Very informative on guided surgery. I know you mentioned it a couple of times, but are you able to comfirm that Zimmer sell the
Neobiotech sinus kits. Thanks again, Keith

Dear Mark You should ideally achieve primary closure without tension in your surgical sites. Having said that, I have had areas with minor separation and I have seen clinically fast integration of the fibrin membrane to the adjacent tissue.

Thank you Alvaro for a beautiful surgery. Using PRF membranes under your incison line, how critical is it to get absolute closure of your incision site? Would not the fibrin membrane make up for any slight openings in the incision or not?

Digital Dynamic & Static Solutions
Partial Extraction Therapy and crestal sinus augmentation have changed the methods of implant planning and execution. Preserving both hard and soft tissue has propelled these concepts to innovative. Until recently the use of dynamic and static guidance has been delayed. The objective of this presentation is to understand the need for digital guidance and explores avenues to accomplish a digitally based workflow and execution fr the subsequent procedures.

Sinus Augmentation with rhBMP-2 and Simultaneous Nonsubmerged Implant Placement
This case features the use of rhBMP-2 and mineralized allograft for grafting the partially pneumatized left maxillary sinus along with simultaneous placement of a large diameter implant in a nonsubmerged mode into the maxillary left second bicuspid site. The step-by-step surgical protocol will focus on incision design, lateral window osteotomy, membrane elevation and repair, the use of rhBMP-2 for bone grafts, and simultaneous non-submerged implant placement. New Concepts in the Management of the Deficient Posterior Maxilla
Poor bone quality and anatomic deficiencies have traditionally limited posterior maxillary tooth replacement. The goal of this presentation is to discuss advantages of contemporary treatment options, instruments and materials that have been developed to overcome the common challenges that the clinician encounters when planning for posterior maxillary implant rehabilitation. Advantages, limitations, and realistic short- and long-term expectations will be discussed.

Emerging Concepts in Sinus Augmentation; Atraumatic and Efficient Crestal and Lateral Access Techniques
This presentation will highlight through in depth clinical case documentation, the new and evolving role of instrumentation for access to the Sinus for Bone Augmentation. Efficiency and minimally invasive approaches which increase success and minimize complications will be highlighted. Posterior Maxillary reconstruction often involves Sinus Augmentation and Implants then inserted into the grafted site. A knowledge of useful and clinically manageable techniques that provide access but minimize large surgical flaps and sinus membrane perforations are keys to success.

Tissue Engineering and Platelet Derived Growth Factors: Evidence Based Therapy Premium Member Content

Tissue Engineering and Platelet Derived Growth Factors: Evidence Based Therapy
Platelet derived growth factors are now routinely utilized in reconstructive therapy. This presentation describes very detailed and evidence based guidelines for clinicians interested in enhancing their abilities in tissue engineering, especially as it relates to bone augmentation. Specifically, while successful bone augmentation requires the standard surgical parameters of space maintenance, low pressure on the grafts and tension-free flap closure, optimization of this goal requires management and enhancement of the local biological conditions with growth factors. Towards that end, platelet concentrates through the constant release of growth factors are able to promote and enhance new vascularization, provide plasma protein, normal lipidemia, as well as increased collagen and fibrin activity.

Survival of Implants after Indirect Maxillary Sinus Elevation Procedure: A Two Years Longitudinal Study
The aim of the study was to evaluate the survival rate of two diverse implant systems with different implant surfaces with the same geometrical design. In the present study, we achieved clinical success with both kinds of implant surfaces however Bioetched implant surface showed promising results comparable to Tiunite surface of Nobel BioCare Implants. In the future, more case-controlled studies with longer follow-up are needed to validate the results of the present findings.
