Extraction Site Management: Technical Aspects and Biologics

Description:
In this lecture and video case report, “conservative” management of posterior maxillary extraction sites are highlighted featuring new tools, techniques and biologics. How to extract teeth to preserve the socket environment using piezosurgery and extractor instruments is followed by simplified grafting with a synthetic bone substitute and biologic seal. After 4 months, the video 2nd surgery is clearly displayed with flap reflection, bone assessment and implant placement in a conservative staged approach. This is followed by final suturing using a running mattress.

Matias Tanga - (5/3/2015 8:55 PM)

Dr. Salama, I´ll only change the time of flap release, former to the augmentation with biomaterials. In that way I ll´ be able to do that procedure in an easier manner, without having extreme care with the biomaterials, ensuring the tension free procedure before augmentation. Excellent presentation.

Thank you Felicia and Wahib. Staged therapy and 4 months seems to be very conservative but also very effective.

I can see? I am "free""

Wahib Moussa - (8/29/2013 7:56 AM)

Dear Dr.Salama, Thanks for a Great vedio,I always let one of my staff do the extraction ,then I continue ,but your motivating presentation will get me back to extraction applying your non traumatic approach. Our problem that our patients would love to have extraction and implant at same visit. How I can motivate them to have it in two stages. Best regards. Wahib

Abdusalam; Many thanks. We use both products here in our office with very similar results. Good luck. Dr. Salama

The “All on Four" Approach to Implant Dentistry
New surgical and prosthetic protocols may allow the patient and clinical teams with innovative techniques that have been studied using evidence based protocols in private practice. This program is design to help the clinical team understand one of the popular protocols, the All-On-Four Procedure. The presenter of this program will guide the attendees through the pre-treatment planning, surgical, prosthetic, and laboratory procedures. Special emphasis will be given to various biomaterials that can be used for the final fixed prosthesis for patient receiving four implants.

Rehabilitation of the Extreme Atrophic Jaws
In this lecture you will learn several alternatives for the full arch rehabilitation of the jaws with different degrees of resorption. Several cases will be presented step-by-step with high-quality pictures for each technique explained. The main goals are to avoid complex regeneration procedures, to avoid zigomatic surgery and to still be able to perform immediate loading in the most compromised scenarios. All-on-Four technique, palatal approach technique, pterygoid implants and the most recent Subperiosteal Implants are some of the key-concepts presented.

Revolutionary Dental Implant Material Technology: Trabecular Metal
To date, enhancement to implant surface technology has been evolutionary rather than revolutionary. Trabecular Metal has changed all that. This is because Trabecular Metal allows for true bone 'in-growth' rather than just on-growth. This webinar will highlight, in detail, this new implant surface technology, related literature, as well as its enhancing effect on current clinical implant protocols. In addition, techniques for immediate provisionalization of this implant will also be covered in an accompanying surgical video.

Aesthetic Enhancement of Anterior Dental Implants with the Use of Tapered Osteotomes & Soft Tissue Manipluation
An adequate bone base is usually a prerequisite for functionally and aesthetically optimal reconstruction of the soft tissue architecture around a dental implant. In patients with sufficient bone height but insufficient bone width as a result of tooth loss, a jaw enlargement technique with osteotomes combined with soft tissue manipulation may be utilized to facilitate proper implant placement while concomitantly optimizing the aes thetics of the final implant prosthesis. The learning objective of…

Implant Therapy-Sequence of Surgical & Restorative Phases
Failure of the natural dentition due to periodontal- or endodontic-related osseous infections may complicate implant therapy. Sequencing (ie, staging) of the surgical aspects of the treatment is essential to achieve the desired restorative objectives. Additionally, for indications in which the adjacent natural teeth require cosmetic enhancement as part of the overall treatment plan, proper sequencing will influence the definitive results. The following article discusses the surgical and restorative…
