The Great Debate on Soft Tissue Regeneration
Description:
Recession and soft tissue deficiencies are a significant challenge in restorative and implant dentistry. A variety of different approaches and techniques using minimally invasive flaps and micro-surgical instrumentation have been proposed in this session with some of the leading clinicians in the field. A conceptual debate format discussing the virtues of CTG, FGG, pedicle grafts, as well as vestibular approaches, growth factor mediated-ACDM and flap management as well as key suturing aspects were discussed.

Contemporary Bio-Materials and Combined Techniques for Esthetic Reconstruction
State-of-the-art technology offers conservative and esthetic alternatives to re-establish the shape and color of anterior teeth as well as the white and pink harmony. Tooth reduction for any restorative technique obliges us to be as conservative as possible. In this presentation we will share a short description of different material options developed in esthetic dentistry. We will present a case managed with a combination of techniques including: monolithic lithium-silicate ceramic veneers and cut-back/layering.

Laser in Periodontal Plastic Surgery
Today aesthetics has become the main reason for dental consultation. The
appearance and shape of soft tissues are an essential part of achieving smile balance and harmony.
In recent years, the use of lasers has evolved significantly in periodontal plastic surgery, due to its applications, such as; the ability to offer treatments without sutures, minor tissue damage, minor bleeding and therefore promote faster tissue recovery. This time we used GEMINI Ultradent double wavelength diode laser, from 810nm to 980nm, super pulsed with a power of up to 20 watts; improving coagulation performance and providing a faster and more precise cut than other diode lasers.

New Classification of Peri-Implantitis & Diagnosis - Part 1 of 2
Peri-implantitis has been receiving attention following recent studies that showed that it is highly prevalent and difficult to manage. This course will provide the latest evidence-based information on peri-implant diseases with emphasis on a team/interdisciplinary approach to treatment. The program will present the updates on the definition and etiology of peri-implantitis from the American Academy of Periodontology’s 2018 consensus meeting. The instructor will present research findings on peri-implant disease diagnosis and management.

Treating the Terminal Dentition: A Patient-Center Approach
In patients with terminal dentition esthetic and functional replacement is a necessary objective, but no longer a sufficient-objective: nowadays, due to the clinical and extra clinical characteristics of these patients, management of the therapy is as important as its conclusion. Respect of the principle of autonomy, reduction of treatment length, simplification of surgical procedures and prosthetic management of implant immediate loading are the cornerstones of this philosophy and are the object of this lecture.

Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Peri-Implant Disease
Although some risk factors of peri-implant disease are well defined, the lack of efficient and predictable approaches to treat peri-implantitis has created difficulty in the management of those complications. The aim of this review was the evaluate the reliability of the diagnosis methods and to provide a set of guidelines to treat peri-implant disease. A search of PubMed and a hand search of articles related to peri-implant diseases were conducted up to August 2013. A summary of the current methods for the diagnosis of peri-implantitis, its potential risk factors, and a flow chart to guide the clinical management of these conditions are presented.

Alveolar Ridge Preservation and Reconstruction
Periodontal plastic surgery procedures designed to reconstruct deformed, partially edentulous residual ridges were introduced to the dental profession between 1971 and 1986. They have been revised and refined to their current state of development, where they now occupy a major place in the reconstructive armamentarium. Before these concepts were developed, it was generally believed that it was impossible to surgically reconstruct deformities in the partially edentulous ridge. Deformities were filled…
